‘Sylvia’

This table is just a bog standard piece looking tired and worn, the completed look though is so different and it now looks fabulous! Here we sanded down the table, primed it then painted it twice with liquorice chalky flat mat paint. We then used a leopard print decoupage paper, tearing it up into small pieces and gluing each piece on using PVA. When that had dried we painted on five coats of PVA after that had dried we varnished the top with another five coats of matt varnish. We then used gold leaf on the carved detailing on the top of the table legs.

To complete we waxed the painted areas of the table and then buffed it. This table was a commissioned piece so is not for sale, although if something similar is required then we can use the same materials again for another piece.
